While the Career Resource Center generally concentrates on the immediacy of the job search, many displaces employees prefer to focus on other options and alternatives that exist during a career transition. At each turn, the employee and his/her family learn more about their career interests, the various risks involved, and their abilities as individuals and as a family to tackle these risks financially, emotionally, and mentally. Our Career-Life Lifestyle workshops address these and many other relevant issues.
Career-Life Transitional Financial-Planning Workshop.
This career workshop, taught be certified career financial planners will help your employees analyze their current finances and develop a strategy to address any problems. The instructor will present the process of establish a family budget, handling consumer debt, identifying other sources of income, and building toward a secure financial future by establishing an emergency fund and planning for college, a new home, or retirement.
Career-Life Entrepreneurial/Self Employment Workshop.
Designed for those who may be considering a career of self-employment, this workshop is taught by those who have experienced careers as successful small-business owners. It covers the basics of entrepreneurship and business management. Topics include: a successful entrepreneurial profile, business idea brainstorming, marketing, targeting, networking, minimizing risk, record keeping, financial considerations, and more about this type of career path.
Career-Life Retirement-Planning Workshop.
Taking a positive look at retirement and making plans for this exciting period of life after “career” is the focus of this program. Topics include: financial and tax planning, Social Security, housing relocation, healthful living, and creative use of time. The format involves individual and group exercises, case studies, videotapes, and discussions. The class is taught by those who have experienced early retirement and successfully dealt with the challenges and decisions involved in the process.
